Our First Year At Pilgrims!

On Wednesday 28th October it was exactly one year to the day since we moved in! Seems like just yesterday we found ourselves here surrounded by a mound of boxes. Eventually we just shut the door on them and went out to the George and Pilgrims to eat!

On Thursday 29th October it was exactly one year since we had our first guest Vicki, (who will be familiar to you if you regularly read the News page), and an absence of boxes.

And on Friday 30th October it was exactly one year since we had the house completely full of Pilgrims – the first weekend of Year One of Priestess of Avalon training.

With all these things in mind, one year on we held a week of celebrations (which we are still recovering from!). Incredibly for the end of October, the weather remained mild and dry throughout the week, allowing us to get everything done and to enjoy ourselves. It rained for the first time the night after the Samhain celebrations - just shows you would be mad not to believe in miracles.

Then last weekend, a very generous party of friends came down and completely renovated the garden. We are full of praise and endless gratitude to Alan, Charlie & Ella, Phil & Helen and Suzi for their tireless efforts and the wonderful results. The garden is going to be glorious next spring time. Read about the garden angels here.

On Tuesday it was Suzi’s birthday party. See the photos here.

On Friday we had a party to celebrate Suzi’s birthday again, to celebrate our first year, and of course to celebrate Samhain.  Thank you to all the friends and neighbours who came and who have made us so welcome here in Glastonbury.

Finally on Saturday, it was back to just the Pilgrims Family and we celebrated Samhain at the Chalice Well Festival. This was also Suzi’s last night with us before she  returned home to Hampshire. We’re missing her already – but she’ll be back! Thank you Suzi for all the joyous times.
