The weekend of 25th – 27th September saw our first retreat run at Pilgrims. ‘The Well-Being Weekend’ organised and led by Karl and Nina De Lisser saw some 11 participants undertaking a variety of activities – but the weekend is best described by Karl:
‘The first Wellbeing Weekend Retreat was held in Glastonbury in September 2009. The participants arrived at Pilgrims B & B on Friday and we began at 4.30 pm, with a general introduction followed by a guided meditation in Pilgrims’ lovely, peaceful meditation room.
On Saturday and Sunday we had a full programme of activities, including an emotion-filled and lively Goddess Workshop presented by Koko Newport and also a visit to the Chalice Well Gardens.
We held several meditation and relaxation sessions over the weekend as well as a session I gave teaching/demonstration of Indian Head Massage.
We began each morning at 7.00 with the gentle yet energising movements of Qi Gong on Pilgrim’s lawns. Taught by Andy Worsley, a participant on the retreat, this set us up for the day’s activities.
The Retreat ended on Sunday afternoon at 4.30 pm with a blessing Circle and Loving Kindness Prayer by Nina De Lisser.
The objectives of the Retreat appear to have been fulfilled as participants made their way home peaceful and refreshed to continue their everyday lives. Thank you to all for being a part of a weekend of sharing, where everyone gave as well as received. Thank you also for your generous comments; we were very touched and so have included some below.’
Given the success of the retreat, and the disappointment of those unable to attend, (the retreat was very over-subscribed), we have persuaded Karl and Nina to hold two further Retreats at Pilgrims in Glastonbury in 2010.
The dates are:
12th to 14th March 2010 and
17th to 19th September 2010.
On these Retreats, Karl and Nina will be adding ‘An introduction to crystals and their healing properties’ to the existing activities.

And finally, some of the kind words sent to both Karl and to ourselves from some of the wonderful pilgims who attended the October 09 retreat:
Dear Clare and Brian
It was lovely to meet you last weekend, plus your resident “meeter & greeeter” Dexter. I hope you are all well.
I can’t believe its already a week since we were in Glastonbury, time has flown by this week. Myself and Sarah would like to thank you for the warm welcome you gave us and for the excellent accommodation and food. We really enjoyed the weekend and are looking forward to joining Karl’s next retreat. It was such a pleasure to meet so many strangers on Friday and leave with them as friends on Sunday, a rare priviledge which we will always remember.
I hope we will be able to visit you again at some point. I always look forward to visiting Glastonbury and after last weekend, I think Sarah will too.
We would really like to know your recipe for the carrot and coriander soup, it would go down well at home, especially as the colder weather is fast approaching.
With warm best wishes
Dear Karl and Nina
Thank you both so much for such a lovely weekend.
Hope you are both relaxed and refreshed. It would be great to see you again.
Sending you both a Huge Angel Hug X X
See you soon
love, light and Angel Blessings
I thought that I would drop you a line to let you and Nina know how much I enjoyed being part of the Glastonbury retreat last weekend.
It all seemed to go very smoothly and was very enjoyable. I hope that you and Nina enjoyed the Chi Kung as much as I enjoyed presenting it.
Hope to speak to you soon.
Hi Karl and Nina
It was such a pleasure to meet you both last weekend. I can hardly believe it’s a week already since we were in Glastonbury!
I enjoyed the weekend very much and I know Sarah did too. We both feel it was time well spent and would love to be part of your next retreat. It gave us time to relax, away from our daily lives which as you know, have been chaotic over the last few weeks. I think we both feel stronger and more able to deal with the daily stuff after getting away for a couple of days.
We were both very interested to learn about Indian Head massage and will continue to practice this with each other and friends and family. Perhaps a future workshop could include learning Reiki to 1st degree and possibly introduction to working with crystals, if you could include drumming that would be good too.
It was also a great pleasure to meet your other participants, complete strangers on Friday but good friends by Sunday. Brian and Clair were excellent hosts and their food was extremely good! We felt the whole weekend was warm and welcoming, a place for strangers to relax and enjoy each other’s company
Thank you once again for a great weekend, we look forward to meeting you again at some point
With very best wishes
Hilary and Sarah
