Glastonbury Tor Fair

The Tor Fair is the second oldest fair in the country. Traditionally held on the Tor, after a number of alternative sites, this year it will be held at St. Dunstans carp park on Magdalene Street.

The Tor Fair predates the year 1127, when King Henry I granted a charter to continue the annual fair, as long as the celebration was held upon the traditional sacred site for at least two days each year.

Today, the tradition is continued in the form of a travelling fun-fair run by the Chipperfield family.
