Glastonbury Tor Fair

The Tor Fair is the second oldest fair in the country. Traditionally held on the Tor, it is now held on the edge of Glastonbury, near the Northload roundabout beside the Glastonbury bypass.

It predates the year 1127, when King Henry I granted a charter to continue the annual fair, as long as the celebration was held upon the traditional sacred site for at least two days each year.

Today, the tradition is continued in the form of a travelling fun-fair run by the Chipperfield family.
