Presented by: Ian Rees
This talk will focus on the figure of Merlin drawing upon the older traditions from the Black Book of Carmarthen and the Vita Merlini of Geoffrey of Monmouth. These older stories conceal and reveal a powerful approach to the disturbed aspects of our soul and how to find balance in a fragmented and harsh world. A particular focus will be Merlin’s relationship with the ancient Oak of Prydain that is the Strong Door guarded by those who work with the lineage of Math son of Mathonwy (or Bear son of the one who is like a bear).
The talk will involve some experiential exercises in order to touch into these old yet ever-renewing traditions.
Location: Glastonbury Town Hall
