Glastonbury Abbey’s annual spectacle of lights and music with entertainment.
Following being shortlisted for Small Event of the Year at the National Outdoor Event Association Awards, Night at the Abbey is set to return in a blaze of light and music, bigger and better than ever before.
This event gives you the chance to see the stunning ruins as you’ve never seen them before – spectacularly lit with coloured lights. The greens, oranges and purples of the lights help to create a fabulous atmosphere and the perfect opportunity for children and adults alike to see their shadows dancing with them on the ruins.
The Events Team at Glastonbury Abbey also organise an amazing line-up of talented local musicians to perform in various areas across the site. Whether you’re a choral music fan or prefer a solo singer songwriter, you will find something to enjoy.
Music isn’t the only entertainment to be found at Night at the Abbey – in 2013, we welcomed Children’s World International for hilarious family activities and Langport Mummers for a short play. The Bards of Glastonbury have also joined us by spending the previous two years at this event captivating audiences with their tales, poems and songs by candlelight.
No event would be complete without refreshments and Night at the Abbey has both hot & cold snacks and a bar. The large marquee is the established home of all things consumable – hot dogs, pasties, cakes and a well stocked bar. This is certainly the place to be if you want to try a pint of the abbey cider, brewed from apples grown in the orchard.
